4 Tips For Sellers During The Spring Home Buying Season

first time home buyers

This year has had it’s challenges to overcome as we move towards a post-covid-19 way of life.  As the flowers bloom and buyers come out of quarantine and start hunting for the perfect home, here are 4 tips for sellers to keep in mind.

First and Foremost Declutter, Toss and Donate

Home buyers need to envision themselves in a home that they are viewing.

Put aside your belongings such as your family heirlooms, photos, and other personal
belongings that are taking up space.

Make Essential Repairs That Are Necessary

Consult with your real estate agent and get their feedback on what repairs should be made. Don’t waste money on non-essential repairs. Follow-through on repairs that fall into the must-fix category as they will show up on the home inspection and possibly turn away buyers. Make a list of all things you intended to fix around the house that has been neglected. This list could include items such as cracked tile, doors or drawers that don’t close properly, burned- out light bulbs. Any structural or mechanical in nature should be fixed if you know that there’s a defect.

Time To Consider  Upgrades

Make improvements that will have a return on investment. It is wise to consider making improvements that will yield the highest return and have the biggest impact such as cabinet knobs, light fixtures, showerheads, and even faucets. Here are a few other upgrades to consider adding to your list of potential upgrades.

Replace worn or stained carpeting

Consider sprucing up the walls, repaint dark walls with gray or neutral colors.

Remove old window coverings, worn home furnishing.
